Stage 1 features a spacious 48m² (520ft²) control room, comfortably accommodating up to 10 clients, alongside a 21m² (230ft²) recording booth that can host up to 8 artists. As the first Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment (HE) enabled facility in South Africa, Stage 1 is purpose-built for high-end audio production—ideal for ADR and loop group recording, as well as mixing across all theatrical formats from 5.1 through to Dolby Atmos 9.1.4.

Designed as a single or dual-operator suite, Stage 1 is equipped with the latest Pro Tools HDX systems and a 17-fader Avid EUCON controller. The monitoring environment features a JBL Cinema Array system, including 3 x JBL 3732’s, 12 x JBL 8340A’s, and a JBL 4641 subwoofer, all powered by Crown DCI800 network amplifiers. A 5.5m acoustically transparent screen with 2K projection, combined with a fully integrated audio-visual ADR cueing system, ensures seamless playback and recording. The studio is further supported by a curated selection of world-class outboard gear, iZotope Advanced audio restoration tools, and Cedar noise reduction systems.

For remote collaboration, Stage 1 offers integrated live video and audio streaming via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Hangouts. All studios are connected to a central machine room equipped with Source-Connect Pro Extended facilities and Dolby encoders. Our servers host an extensive library of hundreds of thousands of sound effects, along with a comprehensive range of production music libraries.

A wide selection of premium microphones is available, including Neumann U87AI and U87, Neumann TLM 103, Neumann KMR81, Sennheiser MKH60, MKH416 and ME66, Schoeps CMIT 5U, Sanken CS1 and COS 11D, Countryman B6, DPA 4060, and Sony ECM 77B. All suites are fully networked, allowing instant access to sessions across the facility.

With a generator and backup UPS systems in place, all studios including air conditioning and fresh air supply remain fully operational during national power outages.

Wireless Internet, full catering and dedicated parking is provided for all clients.
